The search engine wars are heating up. Bing’s surprisingly successful launch earlier this year has forced Google to fast-track some of their newer offerings. This week the search giant launched live search indexing, joining Bing in the real-time search results arena.

I attended the Energy Roundtable and Exhibition, sponsored by the Dayton Development Coalition, on June 26th. I was impressed by the credentials of the featured speakers and panelists and the well-intended efforts of the DDC to educate regional businesses looking to capitalize on the renewable energy and energy efficiency movement in our country. The Cranky Communicator: A Christmas Story

Decembers in Heidelberg, Germany, are bleak. The ridgelines of the Odenwald are often shrouded in a misty fog. And it was going to be an even bleaker Christmas for the newly arrived Army captain and his six-month pregnant wife. They had arrived in town at mid-month and were living out of suitcases in the cramped BOQ. They had no household goods or transportation as these had not yet arrived from the states.
